Theater Receiver
What is a home theater receiver and not just the control input comes from?
So this is to just down the road if ever I have my mom to buy a high definition gaming. If I say that an Xbox 360, a Rogers HD Box Signal and a DVD player, and I have a pair of speakers, I need to HD receiver to ensure that the signals coming from these speakers and components in high-definition television, or HDTV can do this yourself? Thanks Ken
Receiver audio / video (AVR), connect all audio and video sources in it and have a connection to the screen. A controller is more than one input switch however. It deals with amplification for the speakers and you can add additional processing of audio and video. It allows you to connect speakers 5, 6 or 7 plus a subwoofer for the ultimate home theater sound experience. A high definition capable receiver is not required, but will feature pack more modern, such as high-definition decoders audio, good video conversion and support HDMI 1.3. video upconversion signal will Low definition of luxury and a hd as well as to upconverting DVD players do. Decoders for high-definition audio only come into play when you have a Blu-ray player connected to your system that can output a bit stream HD to your AVR. Most Blu-ray players will decode the audio from all anyway so while the AVR supports LPCM over HDMI you're okay.

mac connect to home theater receiver?
Hello, I have a laptop with Mac OS X Leopard and a home theater receiver Denon, is there a way to connect two and use my computer on the big screen? my mac is Summer 07, which is fairly new?
Yes! If your Mac is less than a year or two years, the headphone jack on the side is a dual role: it is both an optical digital output and stereo output analog. If you go analog, you need a 1 / 8 "stereo RCA audio stereo, available at Radio Shack or electronics store (See below for a better price). If the digital system (and if your receiver has an optical audio input) you need a mini-Toslink to Toslink cable, and they are hard to find in stores (see below for a great price). The advantage is that you'll be able to use frontrow or Plex to play movies with full surround sound.
