How do i tell if my radiator is damaged?
Today i just go myself in a minor accident. I hit my front car into somone's else car. His car didnt get damaged but my car had a baseball size dent infront of my bumper. After 10 mins i saw smoke coming out of my radiator. I took it to a local mechanic to see what he though. He just said that the radiator could be damaged. After 30 mins have passed there was no more sign of smoke coming out of my radiator. My temperture gauge is normal and i turned on my AC to see if it worked and it did. So i was wondering if my radiator could be still damaged or it could be some plastic that broke off and started melting by the radiator. Thanks
Take it to a mechanic and have a cooling system pressure test performed. That will reveal any leaks. In the meantime, keep a check on the coolant level.
