Ipod Dock
Anyone know where to find the original iPod dock connector, the one that is supposed to come in the box?
I bought a used iPod, and it wasn't sketchy - it was from Target - but it didn't come with that universal dock connector that they all come from that allows you to connect it to accessories, and I'm having trouble figuring out where I can find one. Any suggestions? I've tried the Apple website, and I've tried searching eBay and google Froogle and all that.
The dock connector is built right into the ipod. It is not an additional accessory. If you look at the bottom of the ipod you will see an opening that looks like a narrow slot...where you plug it in to charge it or connect to your computer---this is your dock connector.

Is it common for an iPod dock player to charge an iPod?
I just got an iPod dock player. Forgive me for my stupidness and naivety over iPod-related items. Sorry.
Yes it is. All three of the different dock players in my house (2 bose, one JBL) all charge the ipods. A good way to check is to read the instruction manual. If it's charging your ipod and you've plugged it in, then yes it is supposed to charge it.
