Is there a difference between a digital audio cable and an optical audio cable?
I'm buying an HDTV and trying to find if I can connect to my surround sound system with an optical cable, as it has a digital audio output, I thought they were the same thing, but I want to be sure.
is only one type optical digital audio cable. PCM may be optical (digital coaxial), or an XLR type connector. Most receivers have two, but some may require some reasigning. response with the model number of your receiver and TV to know how to do well.

How can we get the optical digital audio output to my TV for a pair of headphones?
I bought a new TV and the only way out Audio Optical digital audio. I want to be able to hear a pair of headphones with 3.5mm jack. In the past, I used a 3.5mm to RCA adapter, but not now this option. What equipment is needed for this?
