Avi Player
What is the difference between avi and dvd format? i can play avi dvd player?
¿I can play avi dvd player?
You usually can not play AVI in a DVD player, unless something like a DivX AVI file, and the DVD player supports playback DivX media - but a little depends on the characteristics of the player in question ... DVD using the VOB files are essentially just MPEG-2 files video, with additional features such as subtitles. In fact, if you have a VOB file from a DVD, and that the file has no subtitles, if change name to an MPG file, which can be played with Media Player.

how can i burn avi files to play on a tv dvd player?
have avi files downloaded to my computer and want to burn them to play on my tv's dvd player. avi files wont play
There is software that you can purchase which will do this, but if you plan on watching alot of these files, I'd just purchase a new Divx DVD player. You can buy these Divx players which play pretty much all video formats (avi, mpeg, etc) and are very inexpensive. You can get them starting around 40 dollars at Circuit City, Walmart, or pretty much any other store that sells electronics. If you look up "Divx player" on google, you will find many models. Here is one at CC:
